The SS Mendi sails for France to the sound of Moabi Kitchin’s 1958 poem ‘Go nwela ga Mendi’ performed in the Afrikaans translation by poet Antjie Krog.

‘Wa van die Waters’ is part of the six-film installation, ‘This, of course, is a work of the imagination’.
